Reiki is Magic.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese contemporary healing modality founded by Mikao Usui in 1922 based on ancient hands-on healing techniques. Using the chakra system, Reiki cleanses and balances the energy body, bringing calm and restoration, and giving new energy to the body’s own healing systems. Reiki can remove emotional and energetic blockages that are preventing you from moving forward in your life. Reiki is used to help grief, trauma, stress management, anxiety, depression, surgery preparation and recovery, and many other chronic illnesses and mental health challenges.

What is a Reiki session like?

During a healing session, clients lay fully clothed on a massage table while receiving Reiki energy channeled through the practitioner. The practitioner uses light touch in non-sensitive areas, or no touch if preferred, to transmit Source Energy (Ki, Chi, or Prana are other names for it) into the clients auric being. Reiki induces a subtle trace-like state, similar to the space between asleep and awake, which access to subtle consciousness. Sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes and include some time after the hands on session to discuss anything that comes up during the session. Clients leave feeling relaxed and renewed.

How many sessions do I need?

This looks different for everyone! Depending on your symptoms, your lifestyle and your individual response to a Reiki session, you may need Reiki once a month, once a week, or just one time. Using Reiki consistently over time can keep the energy body thriving with vitality and free of blockage.

My Reiki Healing Experience and Education

Reiki is taught in many styles, in many schools all over the world. Reiki is now commonly taught online or in weekend workshops with as little as 3-6 hours of education and training, which has earned it a fair degree of skepticism from clients seeking experienced and well-trained healers.

I am a Traditional Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, and I earned this highest-level certification in 2016. I trained for over a year, meeting several times a week, in a one-on-one master/disciple training program with Tamara Nakhjavani, a sixth-generation Master/Teacher in the Takata Lineage. This in-depth, in-person, one-on-one style of learning means I have made a deep commitment to pursuing Reiki in a serious, traditional, and committed manner. With much more emphasis on training and technique than many modern Reiki training programs, I have a depth of knowledge to draw from while healing clients.

I have treated private clients, participated in group healings, and provided Reiki in such diverse locations as hospitals, elementary schools, rec centers, cultural centers and parks. I have worked with thousands of clients, I am confident that my Reiki touch brings healing - I would love to work with you! To learn more, book a consultation or appointment today!
